It may seem like a self-indulgent commitment to make, but getting to the gym on the regular is actually one of your top priorities as an entrepreneur. Create a space in your schedule and stick to it. You’ll benefit too; more exercise means better sleep, better sleep means smarter brain, and all of that translates into wiser business choices. Plus, it's extra important to make time for yourself to take care of YOU when you are usually focused on taking care of everyone else, like your clients. 

Pay Attention to Nutrition


 When we’re working hard and fast it’s easy to reach for simple carbs for “energy”. In the moment, it might seem like it makes sense, but in the long run it’s not a great idea. Eating your vegetables may feel like a burdensome task when you’re so busy and stressed, but it will yield benefits in a surprisingly short amount of time. Within a few days of eliminating sugar and focusing on nutrient-dense meals, you’ll find yourself in possession of glowing skin, less water weight, and steadier focus.

Learn How To De-Stress


I get it, I really do. Striking out on your own to build a business is a lot of work. It can be really stressful, and some days might feel like you’re sprinting on a treadmill; working at maximum capacity but getting nowhere. Taking the time to eat properly and exercise regularly will help mitigate overwhelming stress all on their own, but if you wanted to take your mindfulness game to the next level, try this: set a timer for 10 minutes, sit still, and observe your breath. Sometimes just taking a time out can reframe your entire workload… and as a bonus, you’ll find your client interactions may go more smoothly if you’re feeling calm and centered.

 

Remember that self-care is actually a kind of professional development.
